tcely 72b2aeb090 Mitigate the wasted space from Debian 13.4 
The upgrade was just released today, and a new image isn't expected soon.

This work-around should let our builds proceed instead of waiting for a new image.

When `node` has no arguments, it uses a read-execute-print loop so copy
that behavior.

Only require that HOME must be set for shell, then let the cryptic error
from `deno` handle a foolishly empty/null HOME variable.
